Seattle Weekend

We love a good weekend in Seattle. Nothing beats a Hotwire deal…good food…good craft beer…and a change of scenery for the kiddos. This trip we coupled with some work for I’m a mrs…but managed to have lots of fun exploring the city too. Highly recommend the Alexis hotel…they gave us a huge room (I think the felt sorry for us at checkin…it was late and we had 2 unhappy kids ;)).

Highlight for jay was most definitely the crab cocktail at the public market. For tal…hands down the squeaky cheese at Beecher’s. Definitely no shortage of delish food!

tal’s first day of preschool…

It’s a big day…first day of preschool.  Tal is SO excited – she’s been talking about this for months! Below is a pic of her new friend Stella showing Tal her new cubby to hang her coat.  We’re on our way to pick her up shortly – so stay tuned for a an update on how it went (and hopefully a better picture) 😉

 

Just picked her up – it was a success…she loved it and made new friends. Very excited to go back on Thursday.  Unfortunately get a better pic – it’s an ugly day here in rainy Vancouver…and pick-ups are outside ;(

Ski camp – day 2!

Tal had a great day on the hill yesterday. Her report card says that she is proficient at walking with her skis on, and has great balance. Her instructor says that her next challenge is to get better at making a pizza wedge (snow plow) to control her speed. I think that she could do it if she wanted to…she just doesn’t want to slow down! Tal made instant friends this morning with others in her class…there is even an Andrew in her class which she thought was pretty cool. It’s really cold today…-17 at the top…Tal is really lucky to have a new neck warmer from grandma jen to keep her toasty warm. Smiles are even bigger today…and was quite pleased to wave me off and not even watch me walk away.

Whistler fun

Having a great weekend in whistler. It is a treat to have Grandma Jen with us. She has been a huge help, especially with getting Tal to ski camp. We are of course enjoying the usual Fodor hospitality. Gill and Joe are looking after us with great food and drink. Gemma and Brod stayed last night and a good time was had by all. Here’s a pic of Grandma and Will having a good snuggle.

where did the weekend go?

it is amazing how short this weekend felt – jay has been back to work for a week…and it is no fun having him home for only 2 days! but we did make the most of it.  We went to Coral’s 1st birthday party on Saturday – great to catch up with everyone and be a part of the celebration.  Sunday we had brunch with Gill, Joe, Brode and Gem…and also finally took down our Christmas tree – slowly getting back to normal.  This week Grandma Jen comes for a visit…and we’ll head up to Whistler for a long weekend.  Tal will try out ski school for the first time…and hopefully be able to teach her parents a thing or two real soon 😉
