Last Day in Paradise

What a wonderful trip…hard to have it come to an end 😉 Exactly what the doctor ordered! We would definitely come back again. Beautiful resort…but away from the usual touristy hoopla. Jay felt like a local at times (his favorite thing)…even though he may have carried a Lonely Planet guide into a restaurant at breakfast (cardinal sin).

Highlights: Water slide...both kids loved it…and Will was able to do it little assistance from us (we see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel!).  Solo Swimmer – Tal was a rockstar in the swimming pool!  She swam without her puddle jumper after a few days. So proud of her! Food trucks – Giovannis  – http://www.giovannisshrimptruck.com/ North Shore Tacos, Haleiwa (taco truck…Mahi Mahi tacos…delish!), Huladog  – http://huladoghawaii.com/ – this was for the kids…but good enough that the adults will definitely try a tricked out hotdog next time! Konos -http://www.konoshawaii.com/ not a food truck, but worth a shout out. Delish breakys for adults and kids. Yum! Surfers – The North Shore is home of the Banzi pipeline – we were lucky enough to see surfers as we watched the sunset every night. So cool! Poke – pronounced Po-Keh – a very delish island ahi tuna dish. Foodland, the local IGA, had the best ranked Poke by Hawaii Magazine…and it cost about $3 per happy hour portion. We would have paid about $30 for the same portion in Vancouver. We ate Poke every single day ;)))

We will be back Turtle Bay – excited to have found a destination with a safe, fun beach that isn’t crazy touristy. I hope we see last minute deals in our future! Need to sell more name change packages…STAT!
